Egypt has long been a dream destination for tourists around the world. Our Ancient Wonders, the Nile, sea, and desert landscapes bring millions of people to Egypt every year. While the economy benefits from tourism, not everyone benefits equally. Over-tourism threatens natural ecosystems, and multinational tourism brands can keep local communities from reaping the gains.
Ecotourism is a growing industry in Egypt and offers a more responsible way to explore our country. It provides opportunities for tourists to experience Egypt’s natural beauty without causing ecological destruction, and benefits the local communities who engage in hospitality.
ECO Egypt is the country’s first ecotourism campaign aimed at promoting sustainable tourism. The campaign is by the Ministry of Environment, implemented by the UNDP and receives strategic support by NBE. This COP27BiodiversityDay event brings together the campaigns project manager, members of the media, and responsible tourism industry to discuss the exciting growth and opportunities of ecotourism in Egypt.

لا شك أن مصر تعد وجهة سياحية مفضلة عالميًا. وبينما يعتمد اقتصاد الدولة بشكل كبير على السياحة، تبقى استفادة المجتمعات المحلية من السياحة موضع تساؤل.
هنا تظهر السياحة البيئية كإجابة على هذا التساؤل، خاصة مع كونها تقدم سبلا مختلفة لعرض كنوز مصر دون الإخلال بالنظم، وتحقق الاستفادة للمجتمعات المحلية.
وفي هذا الصدد، نعتز بحملة “إيكو إيجيبت” المصرية، كونها أول حملة سياحة بيئية مصرية، أطلقتها وزارة البيئة، ويجمع هذا النقاش المؤسس والمدير التنفيذي للحملة، إلى جانب ممثلين عن الإعلام وصناعة السياحة، في حديث حول السياحة البيئية.
