وشهد المؤتمر مشاركة رئيس وزراء دولة أسبانيا وعدد من وزراء السياحة في العالم منهم وزراء كل من أسبانيا والبرتغال وانجلترا، بالاضافة الى ممثلي كبرى منظمي الرحلات والشركات العاملة في المجال السياحي، ومسئولي منظمة السياحة العالمية، والمجلس الدولي للسياحة والسفر، ومنظمة الآياتا.
وخلال المؤتمر، اتفق المشاركون علي أهمية العمل بجدية لاستعادة الحركة السياحية، خاصة في ضوء تحديات أزمة فيروس كورونا المستجد والتي أدت الى فقدان ملايين العاملين بالقطاع السياحي علي مستوي العالم لأعمالهم، وكذلك التأثير سلبا علي الوظائف ذات الصلة المباشرة وغير المباشرة بالقطاع، كما أكدوا علي الدور الفاعل للسياحة في تحقيق التنمية المستدامة وخلق فرص العمل.
كما أكدوا على أهمية صناعة النقل الجوي وتوحيد المعايير الخاصة بالاجراءات الوقائية بين الدول المرسلة والمستقبلة للسائحين بما يضمن تحقيق تعاف مستدام للقطاع يأخذ بعين الاعتبار الأوضاع الصحية وتسهيل السفر وسلاسة العمل في المطارات وموانئ الوصول المختلفة.
واختُتم المؤتمر بالاتفاق على تبني إعلان “لابالما” الذي تضمن عددا من التوصيات التي أكدت علي أهمية استئناف السياحة في العالم وتوحيد المعايير والإجراءات والبروتوكولات المتبعة في هذا الصدد وفتح مسارات للسفر، واعتماد بدائل مرنة للحجز والدفع الالكتروني واعتماد إجراءات تحفيز اقتصادية للقطاع.
Dr. Khaled El Enany, Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, participated in the conference organized by Spain in cooperation with the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC) and the UNWTO, via video conference. The meet discussed the resumption of tourism worldwide and how to support the recovery of the tourism sector after the crisis of the Corona Virus pandemic.
The Prime Minister of Spain and a number of tourism ministers from around the world attended the conference. They included the ministers of Spain, Portugal and England. In addition to representatives of major tour operators and companies working in the tourism field, officials of the UNWTO, WTTC, and IATA.
During the conference, the participants agreed on the importance of working diligently to restore tourism, especially in light of the challenges of the Corona Virus crisis, which led to millions of workers in the tourism sector worldwide to lose their jobs. In addition to the negative impact on jobs related directly and indirectly to the sector. They also emphasized the role of tourism in achieving sustainable development and creating job opportunities.
They also stressed the importance of the air transport industry and standardizing preventive measures between countries that send and recieve tourists, in order to ensure a sustainable recovery for the sector, taking into account hygiene, travel facilitation and smooth entry in various airports and ports of arrival.
The conference concluded with an agreement to adopt the “La Palma” declaration, which included a number of recommendations that emphasized the importance of resuming tourism in the world, unifying standards, procedures and protocols followed in this regard, opening travel routes, adopting flexible alternatives for online booking and payment, and adopting economic stimulus measures for the sector.
