وتحتفل وزارة السياحة والآثار بعيد الآثاريين المصريين منذ عام 2007، في 14 يناير من كل عام وهو اليوم الذي تم فيه تعيين أول مصري رئيسًا لمصلحة الآثار بعد أن كانت حكرًا على الأجانب فقط.
On the occasion of celebrating the 17th anniversary of Egyptian Archaeologists’ Day, on January 14th of each year, the Minister of Tourism & Antiquities honored a number of figures in the Supreme Council of Antiquities who contributed to developing and enriching archaeological work. The Dr. Zahi Hawass Award for the best archaeologist and restorer for the year 2023 was also announced.
The Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities has been celebrating Egyptian Archaeologists’ Day since 2007, on January 14th of each year, which is the day on which the first Egyptian was appointed head of the Antiquities Authority after it was restricted to foreigners only beforehand.
