استقبلت الدكتورة ياسمين فؤاد وزيرة البيئة، الدكتور خالد العنانى وزير السياحة والآثار بمقر الوزارة حيث تم عقد اجتماعا موسعاً لمناقشة سبل دعم السياحة البيئية وتنظيم أنشطة السياحة البيئية خارج نطاق المحميات الطبيعية للترويج للمنتج السياحى البيئى المصرى بالأسواق المحلية والعالمية، وذلك بحضور عدد من قيادات الوزارتين من البيئة والسياحة والآثار والمهندس احمد الوصيف رئيس الاتحاد المصري للغرف السياحية.
وأكدت الدكتورة ياسمين فؤاد أن السياحة والبيئة وجهان لعملة واحدة وأننا جميعاً نعمل معا من أجل تنمية القطاع السياحى لدعم الاقتصاد القومى مع الحفاظ على ثروات مصر ومواردها الطبيعية وضمان استدامتها للاجيال القادمة، مشددة على أن وزارة البيئة تعمل جاهدة على تطوير المحميات الطبيعية من أجل توفير تجربة سياحية بيئية مميزة حيث تقوم الوزارة حالياً بحملة لصيانة ٩٠ شمندورة بشرم الشيخ لضمان الراحة والأمان للمراكب السياحية أثناء رحلات الغوص والسنوركلينج وبما يضمن الحفاظ على الموارد الطبيعية واستدامتها.
وأوضحت ياسمين فؤاد خلال الاجتماع سبل تفعيل خطة الإدارة البيئية للأنشطة السياحية البحرية من أجل دعم السياحة البيئية وتحويل البيئة إلى فرصة للاستثمار السياحى لتنمية روافد السياحة البيئية مع ضبط الأنشطة السياحية حفاظا على ثرواتنا الطبيعية.
وأشارت فؤاد إلى أن وزارة البيئة بالتعاون مع وزارة السياحة والآثار كانت قد أطلقت الشهر الماضى حملة ECO Egypt للترويج للمحميات الطبيعية ولدعم القطاع السياحى والفندقى والعاملين به من برامج لرفع الوعى بأساليب الحفاظ على الموارد الطبيعية أثناء عملهم بما يوفر منتج سياحى بيئى فريد، بالإضافة إلى الترويج للحد من استخدام الأكياس البلاستيكية احادية الاستخدام واستبداله بمنتجات صديقة للبيئة.
وأشاد الدكتور خالد العنانى ببرامج الوزارة الخاصة بالترويج للسياحة البيئية وجهود الدكتورة ياسمين فؤاد لدعم القطاع السياحي من خلال إصدار القوانين المنظمة للعمل خلال أزمة فيروس كورونا المستجد للوقوف الى جانب العاملين بقطاع السياحة وبما يضمن حماية الموارد الطبيعية كأحد المقاصد السياحية بمصر.
وأوضح د.العنانى أنه سيتم العمل على تنظيم حملات مشتركة للترويج للسياحة البيئية كمنتج سياح فريد ضمن خطة الترويج للسياحة بمصر محلياً وعالمياً ومن خلال المعارض المختلفة، بالإضافة الى إنتاج فيلم مشترك للترويج للسياحة البيئية وتقديم الدعم المشترك للترويج للمنتج السياحى البيئى على مواقع التواصل الاجتماعى و على المنصات الإلكترونية للوزراتين.
كما استعرضا الوزيران بروتوكول التعاون المزمع توقيعه بين الوزارتين للتنمية السياحية خارج المحميات وترتيب عمليات الاستثمار السياحى من أجل ضمان استدامة صناعة السياحة وتعظيم الاستفادة من الموارد الطبيعية والترويج للمنتج السياحى البيئى وهو ما رحب به الدكتور خالد العنانى وزير السياحة والآثار مع تأكيده على قيام الوزارة بالترويج للسياحة البيئية محليا ودوليا .
كما ناقش الاجتماع سبل تقنين أوضاع العاملين بقطاع الخدمات السياحية البيئية بالقطاع الرسمى فى المرحلة المقبلة بما يضمن توفير معايير الأمان والسلامة للسائحين وخدمة السياحة فى مصر .
The Ministers of Tourism and Antiquities and Environment agree to prepare joint campaigns to promote ecotourism
Dr. Yasmine Fouad, the Minister of Environment, received Dr. Khaled El Enany, Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, at the Ministry’s headquarters. They held an extensive meeting to discuss ways to support ecotourism and organize ecotouristic activities outside the scope of protectorates to promote Egypt’s environmental tourism products in local and international markets. The meeting was attended by officials from both ministries and Mr. Ahmed Al-Wasif, head of the Egyptian Tourism Federation.
Dr. Yasmine Fouad emphasized that tourism and the environment are two sides of the same coin and that everyone is working together to develop the tourism sector to support the national economy while preserving Egypt’s wealth, protectorates and ensuring its sustainability for future generations. Dr. Fouad stressed that the Ministry of Environment is working hard to develop protectorates in order to provide a wholesome touristic experience. The Ministry is currently carrying out a campaign to upgrade and upkeep 90 buoys in Sharm El Sheikh to ensure comfort and safety of touristic boats during diving and snorkeling trips, in a way that ensures the preservation and sustainability of natural resources.
During the meeting, Dr. Yasmine Fouad explained ways to activate the environmental management plan for marine tourism activities in order to support ecotourism and transform the environment into an opportunity for tourism investment. This plan is also to develop the tributaries of ecotourism while controlling touristic activities and preserveing our natural resources.
Fouad indicated that the Ministry of Environment, in cooperation with the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, had launched last month the “ECO Egypt” campaign to promote nature reserves and support the tourism and hotel sector and its workers through programs to raise awareness for preserving natural resources. The program was also to provide a unique environmental tourism product, and to promote decresing the usage of single-use plastic bags and replacing them with more environmentally friendly products.
Dr. Khaled El Enany praised the ministry’s programs for promoting eco-tourism and Dr. Yasmine Fouad’s efforts to support the tourism sector by issuing laws regulating work during the emerging Corona virus crisis, to support workers in the tourism sector in a manner that guarantees the protection of natural resources as one of the touristic destinations in Egypt.
Dr. El Enany explained that joint campaigns will be organized to promote ecotourism as a unique tourist product within the plan to promote tourism in Egypt locally and internationally and through various exhibitions, in addition to producing a joint film to promote ecotourism and providing support to promote the environmental tourism product on social media sites and on E-platforms for the two ministries.
The two ministers also reviewed the cooperation protocol agreement to be signed between the two ministries for tourism development outside the reserves and arranging tourism investment operations in order to ensure the sustainability of the tourism industry. The agreement is also to maximize the utilization of natural resources and promote environmental tourism. This agreement was welcomed by Dr. Khaled El Enany, Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, with emphasis on the ministry’s promotion of ecotourism locally and internationally.
The meeting also discussed ways to legalize the conditions of workers in the environmental tourism services sector in the next stage, in order to ensure the provision of safety and security standards for tourists and tourism service in Egypt.
