كشفت البعثة الأثرية المصرية الفرنسية المشتركة بين المجلس الأعلى للآثار والمعهد الأوروبي للآثار البحرية، عن معبد للمعبودة أفروديت من القرن الخامس قبل الميلاد، وعدة لُقى أثرية خلال أعمال التنقيب تحت الماء بمدينة تونيس هيراكليون الغارقة بخليج أبي قير بالإسكندرية.

The Egyptian-French archaeological mission joining the Supreme Council of Antiquities and the European Institute of Marine Archaeology uncovered a temple dedicated to the goddess Aphrodite from the 5th century BCE in the Abu Qir Bay near Alexandria.

The teams also found archaeological finds showing the people’s piety.
