During the meeting, the Minister of Petroleum clarified that there are many vital high value added projects being implemented by the petroleum sector in the petrochemical industry; aimed at providing the necessary products and materials for the use of the local market and to divert the imports of such products to serve the national economy. In this context, Eng. Tariq Al-Mulla affirmed that refinery, petrochemicals and infrastructure projects for the oil sector have great importance in supporting plans to secure and stabilize the supply of oil products to the local market, besides supporting plans of Egypt as a regional center for oil and gas trade, Lafta to continue working on the development of the Egyptian Petrochemicals Company, in order to increase Its productivity, achievement of operational safety, efficiency and sustainability, enhancing its economic value; given the importance of distinctive products it offers. The Petroleum Minister said that cooperation and coordination between petroleum production companies is one of the directions of the oil sector strategy to support companies’ capacity to carry out their operations more efficiently and effectively, by taking advantage of various possible productivity opportunities and boosting production rates, pointing to the continued implementation of the ministry’s plan to increase production Petroleum from the Sinai and the eastern and western desert regions of Egypt, assuring that this plan sees concrete steps by the oil sector in this regard, in order to invest opportunities and possibilities through various traditional and unconventional means.
