During the meeting, Dr. Yasmin Fouad reviewed the Minister of Environment the Executive Position of the Infrastructure Program of Intermediary Stations, Recycling Plants and Cemeteries in terms of implementation and cost, and stressed the need to review the financial allocations currently in the system to operate recycling and burial plants. The Minister of Environment pointed out the need to prioritize the full utilization of current financial resources to operate recycling plants, cemeteries and intermediaries in the system within the provinces and work on their completion before the end of the current financial year, adding that the objectives and some implementation mechanisms have been developed to keep up with current and future variables, which will complete the implementation Infrastructure and private sector engagement, not affecting the efficiency of the system’s implementation by setting a set of priorities for burial cemeteries and factories already assigned to operate within the coming period. On his part, the Minister of Local Development pointed out the Ministry’s keenness to speed up the implementation of solid waste infrastructure projects from safe recycling plants and medical cemeteries in a number of governorates that have been received during the past period, noting that the Ministry is giving priority to finishing a number of projects that have already started to be implemented on the ground. Governments in the framework of the new system and providing necessary financial credits for operational contracts without affecting the efficiency of the system’s implementation by setting a set of priorities for work in the coming period.
