قام السيد زوراب بولوليكاشفيلي الأمين العام لمنظمة السياحة العالمية والوفد المرافق له بزيارة لمنطقة أهرامات الجيزة، رافقه خلالها المهندس أحمد يوسف الرئيس التنفيذي للهيئة المصرية العامة للتنشيط السياحي والمستشار عبد المحسن شافعي المُشرف على الإدارة المركزية للعلاقات الدولية والعامة.
وكان في استقبالهم السيد أشرف محي الدين مدير عام المنطقة، والذي رافقهم بالشرح بالمنطقة الأثرية واصطحابه في جولة داخل الهرم الأكبر ومنطقة البانوراما وتمثال أبو الهول.
وخلال الزيارة، أبدى الأمين العام للمنظمة إعجابه وانبهاره الدائم والمستمر بالحضارة والتاريخ المصري القديم ولا سيما بطريقة بناء الهرم، وبضخامة تمثال أبي الهول وطريقة نحته، معرباً عن حرصه الدائم على زيارة منطقة الأهرامات في كل زيارة له إلى مصر.
كما قام الأمين العام للمنظمة بالتقاط الصور التذكارية من أمام تمثال أبو الهول، وحرص على التوجه الي المطعم السياحي الموجود بمنطقة البانوراما الثانية، حيث أعرب عن إعجابه بالمنظر الذي يطل عليه المطعم ووصفه بـ “الخلاب وأنه أفضل موقع مطعم في العالم”.
جدير بالذكر أنه قد وصل السيد زوراب بولوليكاشفيلي الأمين العام لمنظمة السياحة العالمية مساء أمس مطار القاهرة على رأس وفد من المنظمة في زيارة إلي مصر تستغرق يومين، وذلك تلبية للدعوة التي وجهها له الدكتور خالد العناني وزير السياحة والآثار للمشاركة في حضور موكب المومياوات الملكية المقرر انطلاقه السبت ٣ أبريل الجاري.
Secretary-General of the World Tourism Organization visits the pyramids of Giza
Mr. Zurab Pololikashvili, Secretary-General of the World Tourism Organization, and his accompanying delegation visited the Giza pyramids area, during which he was accompanied by Eng. Ahmed Youssef, CEO of the Egyptian Tourism Promotion Board, and Counselor Abdel Mohsen Shafei, Supervisor of the Central Administration for International and Public Relations.
They were received by Mr. Ashraf Mohi El-Din, Director General of the region, who accompanied them to explain the archaeological area and take him on a tour inside the Great Pyramid, the panorama area, and the Great Sphinx.
During the visit, the Secretary-General of the organization expressed his constant and continuous admiration for the ancient Egyptian civilization and history, especially the way the pyramid was built, the magnitude of the Sphinx and the way it was built, expressing his constant keenness to visit the pyramids area on every visit to Egypt.
The Secretary-General of the UNWTO also took memorial photos in front of the Sphinx, and was keen to go to the tourist restaurant in the second panorama area, where he expressed his admiration for the view overlooked by the restaurant, describing it as “beautiful and the best restaurant location in the world.”
It is worth noting that Mr. Zurab Pololikashvili, Secretary-General of the World Tourism Organization, arrived yesterday evening at Cairo Airport at the head of a delegation from the organization on a two-day visit to Egypt, in response to the invitation extended to him by Dr. Khaled El Enany, Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, to participate in the attendance of the parade of royal mummies scheduled which will take place on Saturday April 3.
