The Egyptian state has pursued successful and effective policies in dealing with the issue of illegal migration and the refugees file, in light of its keenness to adhere to international conventions, as it succeeded in stopping illegal migration flows. In addition, Egypt has succeeded in controlling its land and maritime borders.

Furthermore, the Egyptian state has developed a national legislative framework to combat migrant smuggling; it has also hosted millions of refugees and immigrants of various nationalities, beside dealing with them without discrimination and integrating them into the Egyptian society. Moreover, the refugees benefit from all essential needs and social services similar to Egyptian citizens, ensuring their freedom of movement and not isolating them in camps or shelter.

In this regard, the Media Center of the Egyptian Cabinet published a report that included infographics highlighting that Egypt has become a successful international model in combating illegal migration and in supporting refugees, amid international praises for the Egyptian state’s handling of both files.
