The pavilion was designed by Egyptian environmentalist, UNFCCC High-Level Champion, advisor to the Egyptian Presidency on climate, and principal architect, Sarah Battouty, who fused her passion for design and love for nature by founding architecture firm E-Consult Architects and furniture brand MùBun Sustainable Furniture.
Spotlighting local products and highlighting the richness of our artisanal craftsmanship, the pavilion was furnished using the sustainable locally-sourced-and-made brand, MuBun Ecofurniture, and decorated with a slew of handmade tapestries, vases and more. In doing so, the pavilion pays homage to Egypt’s rich heritage and age-old crafts, combining modern sleek designs with an earthly tone that would not look out of place in any Egyptian home.
Contributing artists, whose effort, hard work, and passion helped the pavilion come together, include Adam Henein, Ahmed Moustafa, Essam Darwish, Rabab Nimr, Noha Deyab, Omar Chakil, Salah Melegui, Caroline Berzi, and Emad Ibrahim
