ICT Minister Visits Construction Site of Creativa Innovation Hub at King Fouad I Palace in Kafr El-Sheikh

The Minister of Communications and Information Technology Amr Talaat has visited the construction site of Creativa Innovation Hub at King Fouad I Palace in Kafr El-Sheikh. He was received by the Deputy Governor of Kafr El-Sheikh Amr El Bishbishi.

The Hub is being established by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) to support technological innovation and entrepreneurship and upskill and qualify the governorate’s youth to meet the requirements of the local and global ICT labor markets.

The establishment of the Hub in Kafr El-Sheikh comes within the framework of MCIT strategy to deploy Creativa Innovation Hubs in different governorates. The strategy includes establishing a hub in each governorate to train youth in the latest ICTs and create an enabling environment for digital innovation and entrepreneurship. So far, 20 Hubs have been established, with a target to have 26 by the end of 2024.

The ICT Minister listened to a detailed explanation from the Acting Head of the Central Department of Engineering Projects at MCIT Ahmed Hussein on the construction and implementation rates of the project. Talaat emphasized MCIT commitment to developing the historic building while preserving its heritage value and unique architectural design.

It is worth mentioning that King Fouad I Palace was established in 1927. Turning the Palace into a Creativa Innovation Hub is under the cooperation protocol between MCIT, the Egyptian Endowments Authority, and Kafr El-Sheikh Governorate.

Creativa Innovation Hub in Kafr El-Sheikh will offer innovation training programs in various tech specializations, helping equip young people with job-ready digital skills and incubate creative ideas and early-stage projects.

During the inspection tour, Talaat listened to an explanation of the efforts made by the governorate in achieving digital transformation and making available Digital Egypt services, the state asset management system, and the real estate national ID project.

It is worth noting that the ICT Minister and the Minister of Transport Kamel Al-Wazir opened the historic King Fouad Railway Station Post Office. After efficiency improvements and development, the Station was transformed into a post office, providing all types of government, postal, and financial services, and Digital Egypt services.
