The Minister of Communications and Information Technology Amr Talaat and the Governor of Minya Osama El-Qady have opened Matay Post Office after being developed and equipped with the latest technological systems and solutions to deliver all types of government, postal, and financial services. They were received by the Chairperson of Egypt Post Sherif Farouk.
Matay Post Office provides several services to citizens, such as pensions, real estate registration, traffic fines, current accounts, domestic and international remittances, mail, parcels, express mail, electricity, gas, and water utility bills, postal savings, and landline bills.
Farouk explained that post offices provide all types of government, financial, and postal services to citizens easily. Offices are developed and equipped with the latest systems and technological solutions as part of Egypt Post’s comprehensive development plan. The plan includes developing and modernizing all 4,500 postal outlets nationwide to deliver services to citizens.
Farouk pointed out that 3,840 out of 4,300 post offices have been developed, with the completion rate standing at 86%. In addition, 84 kiosks and 130 mobile offices have been rolled out nationwide to operate at peak times to reduce overcrowding in post offices. These efforts helped transform the quality of services and facilitate citizens’ access to them.
Concluding his visit to Minya, the ICT Minister and the Governor of Minya inspected the developed Telecom Egypt store in Minya telephone exchange. The store provides integrated telecommunications services to customers, from landline contracting, data and mobile services, solidarity services, school student lines, e-wallets, information cycles, link lines, and other ICT services offered by Telecom Egypt.
It is worth noting that Talaat visited Minya Governorate today to open and inspect several projects of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT). He opened the historical Maghagha Main Post Office after its development and inspected the Fiber to the Home (FTTH) project in Al Azhari Village, El-Adwah Town, one of the villages targeted within the Decent Life initiative.
