Egypt Post has launched a project to convert old post vehicles into electric. This comes in line with the state’s efforts to adopt clean energy and reduce carbon emissions.
The project is aimed at converting and developing Egypt Post’s fleet vehicles into electric to reduce climate change-causing emissions and cut operation costs by over 70%.
The project comes within the framework of Egypt Post’s strategy for preserving the environment and reducing carbon emissions through several immediate steps, including a project to use electric vehicles to deliver parcels, as an alternative to petrol-powered cars. The Post has converted two petrol-powered vehicles into electric and added a new electric vehicle to be used in distribution.
It is worth noting that Egypt Post has been using clean energy in several projects such as the recently-opened post offices and administrative and ancient buildings. The Post provides other services as part of its strategy for preserving the environment and reducing emissions.
