Following the visit of Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly and several ministers to Creativa Innovation Hub in Aswan, today, the Minister of Communications and Information Technology Amr Talaat met with entrepreneurs, freelancers, trainees, and graduates of the programs and initiatives of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) at the Hub.
Succeeding the visit, the ICT Minister expressed his pride in the success stories of young graduates of MCIT programs and initiatives offered at Creativa Innovation Hub in Aswan, which were reviewed and showcased during Prime Minister’s visit.
Talaat highlighted MCIT commitment to introducing qualifying for employment programs. He added that the Ministry is developing its training programs occasionally to stay abreast of advancements in this field and the global ICT labor market. It aims to boost youth competitiveness in the global ICT labor market, particularly in cybersecurity and Artificial Intelligence (AI), and provide them with more training opportunities.
The ICT Minister underscored that MCIT has set a target to train 400,000 young people this fiscal year, through various ongoing training programs and initiatives, including online training courses. He explained that the Digital Egypt Pioneers Initiative (DEPI) is made available to all university students and graduates with different backgrounds. DEPI graduates, the ICT Minister emphasized, will receive certificates from MCIT, qualifying and upskilling them for ICT jobs.
The ICT Minister pointed out that youth can opt for the path they wish to learn via Mahara-Tech platform to enhance their opportunities to find the proper job in their corresponding paths.
In response to youth queries, Talaat underlined that MCIT will establish a workplace with high-speed Internet for freelancers in Aswan.
The ICT Minister indicated that the Ministry will presently launch a platform for freelancers, facilitating their transactions with banking and government agencies, by utilizing tech tools and programs to assist them in their work more effectively. He noted that MCIT will organize a recruitment forum soon to empower youth to land ICT jobs.
It is worth noting that MCIT established the Hub in Aswan as part of implementing the project to establish Creativa Innovation Hubs in different governorates nationwide. The aim is to train and qualify youth in the latest ICTs and create an enabling environment for digital innovation and entrepreneurship. So far, 20 Hubs have been established, with a target to have 26 by 2024.
The meeting was attended by the CEO of the Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA) Ahmed Elzaher, the Chairwoman of the Information Technology Institute (ITI) Heba Saleh, the Director of the National Telecommunication Institute (NTI) Ahmed Khattab, the Advisor to the ICT Minister for Technological Talents Hoda Baraka, the Advisor to ICT Minister for Technology Innovation, Electronics Industry and Training Hossam Osman, and the Advisor to the ICT Minister for Digital Community Development Hoda Dahroug.
