COP27 live from the GreenZone | Building a holistic approach on waste management in Africa, to achieve at least 50% recycling by 2020

Less than 10% of Africa’s municipal solid waste is currently recycled and the continent is predicted to produce one billion tonnes by 2050. This COP27AfricaAndGender Day side event introduces the Global Waste Initiative 50 by 2050, which launches at COP27 and aims to increased Africa’s recycling rate to 50% while enhancing waste management, recycling, and reuse infrstracture and schemes throughout Africa.
