COP27 live from GreenZone | Climate-Smart Agriculture and Carbon Capture in Africa

Addressing the needs of our agriculture systems requires multilateral cooperation. All levels of government, researchers and policy experts, and farmers are required to collaborate on water and soil stewardship to enhance resiliency of our ecology and food system. This COP27Agriculture Day event presents a model of carbon capture for smallholder farmers through application of smart agriculture methods. The program’s initial focus in Nigerian and Kenya is designed to scale to additional locations, eventually targeting millions of hectares of agricultural land.

Speakers: Abdullhamid Tahir Hamid, moderator, CEO of Global Environmental and CLimate Conservation Initiative | Paul Elvis Tangem, Coordinator for the Great Green Wall Initiative at the African Union Commission | Professor Babagana Abba Gambo, Professor of Horticulture | Ru Hartwell, Director at Carbonlink, Founder of Bore Community Forest Project

Organizer: Global Environmental and Conservation Initiative
