يجري حاليًّا تجهيز قاعة متكاملة بالمتحف المصري الكبير، باسم (قاعة الخبايا)، لتضم كافة توابيت خبيئة العساسيف التي اكتُشِفت علي يد البعثة الأثرية المصرية، بمنطقة جبانة العساسيف بالبر الغربي بمحافظة الأقصر، لتصبح علامة فارقة في تاريخ الحفائر المصرية، والتي أصبحت تتفوق علي مثيلاتها من اكتشافات البعثات الأجنبية .
The Al-Asasif Cache was discovered by an Egyptian archaeological mission excavating in the Al-Asasif necropolis on the western bank of Luxor. It is a milestone in the history of Egyptian excavations, as the quality of finds uncovered during excavation was far superior when compared to similar discoveries by foreign missions. The Al-Asasif Cache consists of 31 wooden coffins for 22 priests and their families. The colors and the inscriptions on these coffins are in a good state of preservation. They are currently being studied, conserved and prepared for exhibition at Grand Egyptian Museum in an exhibit entitled ‘Hall of Caches’ which will contain all the coffins of the Asasif Cache as well as a recently discovered cache from Saqqara. This unique exhibition will display these important and distinct archaeological collections for the first time for the whole world to enjoy.
