وخلال الجولة تم مناقشة ما تم إنجازه من أعمال تطوير، كما تم تفقد أعمال رصف الطريق ورفع كفاءة المنطقة وتطوير الخدمات السياحية المقدمة للزائرين ووضع اللوحات الارشادية، كما تم تفقد كنيسة أبي سرجة والمغارة الموجودة أسفل الكنيسة وهي التي احتمت بها العائلة المقدسة اثناء مرورها بالمنطقة خلال زيارتها لمصر. وكذلك تم تفقد الكنيسة المعلقة ومقابلة القساوسة.
As part of the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities’ continuous plan to follow-up on the development works of tourism services in the “Reviving the Path of the Holy Family” project, Ms. Ghada Shalaby, Vice Minister of Tourism and Antiquities for Tourism Affairs, Eng. Gehan Abdel Moneim, Deputy Governor for the Southern Region, and Dr. Osama Talaat, Head of the Islamic, Coptic and Jewish Antiquities Sector at the Supreme Council of Antiquities and Eng. Adel El-Gendy, Director of International Relations and Strategic Planning at the Tourism Development Board and the National Coordinator for the Revival of the Family Path, they visitrf the ongoing work to develop tourism services in the Old Cairo area.
During the tour, the accomplished development works were discussed, the road paving, the efficiency of the area increased, the development of tourism services provided to visitors, and the placement of guiding signs, as well as the Abo Serga Church and the cave located at the bottom of it, which the Holy Family took shelter in while passing through the area during its visit to Egypt. They also visited the Hanging Church and met with priests.
