بالتنسيق بين المجلس الاعلى للآثار ومنطقة آثار المنيا وشرطة السياحة والآثار تم ضبط أحد المواطنين أثناء قيامه بالحفر خلسة داخل منزله، والذى يقع داخل الكتلة السكنية بمركز البهنسا بمحافظة المنيا والخاضعة لقطاع الآثار الإسلامية.
صرح بذلك الدكتور مصطفى وزيري الأمين العام للمجلس الأعلى للآثار، موضحا أنه فور ابلاغ المجلس الاعلى للآثار من قبل الجهات المعنية تم تشكيل لجنة من الاثريين المتخصصين من الآثار المصرية والإسلامية للمعاينة برئاسة مدير آثار البهنسا.
وأشار الدكتور أسامة طلعت رئيس قطاع الآثار الإسلامية والقبطية واليهودية بالمجلس الاعلي للآثار، انه بعد المعاينة تبين وجود حفرة في أرضية بدروم المنزل بمقاسات 70 سم× 70سم وبالنزول فيها وجدت حجرة على عمق 4 متر عثر بالجدار الغربى لها على فتحة بها كتلة حجرية عليها كتابات بالخط الهيروغليفية معناها مشرف الصحراء ويرجح أن هذه الكتلة من أساسات معبد من العصور المتأخرة.
وأكد د. أسامة طلعت انه تم تحرير محضر بالواقعة وجاري اتخاذ كافة الاجراءات القانونية اللازمة من قبل اللجنة.
Arresting a citizen illegally excavating under his home
In coordination between the Supreme Council of Antiquities, the Minya Antiquities Zone, and the Tourism and Antiquities Police, a citizen was caught secretly digging inside his house for antiquities. His house is located inside the residential block of Al-Bahnasa in Minya Governorate, which is under the authority of the Islamic Antiquities Sector.
Dr. Mostafa Waziry, Secretary General of the Supreme Council of Antiquities, said that as soon as the Supreme Council of Antiquities was informed by the authorities, a committee of specialized archaeologists from Egyptian and Islamic antiquities was formed to inspect the findings. The committee was headed by the Director of Al-Bahnasa Antiquities.
Dr. Osama Talaat, the Head of the Islamic, Coptic and Jewish Antiquities Sector at the Supreme Council of Antiquities, indicated that after inspection, a hole in the floor of the basement of the house measuring 70 cm x 70 cm was found. This he lead to a room 4 meters deep, where a block was discovered which is likely from the foundations of a temple dating back to the late period.
Dr. Osama Talaat said that a report on the incident was filed, and all necessary legal actions are being taken by the committee.
