تُمثل علامة السِرِخ جدار مغطى بألواح يجلس عليه المعبود حورس، ويُعتقد أنها تُمثل واجهة القصر الملكي. حملت العلامة عدة معاني مثل “لافتة” و “عرش”.

ارتبط السرخ بلقب حورس أو اللقب الحوري للملك، وهو أحد الألقاب الخمسة التي كان الملك يحملها خلال فترة حكمه.

The serekh sign, a paneled walling with the falcon-headed god Horus usually perched on top, is widely believed to represent the facade of a royal palace.

It was used for the word ‘serekh’ which itself means ‘sign’ or could be used in the word alluding to ‘throne’.

The serekh was associated with the Horus name of the king, one of the 5 names each ruler would have had during their reign.
