Dr. Khaled Abdul Ghaffar, Minister of Health and Population, on Thursday, presided over the meeting of the General Assembly of the Arab Company for Pharmaceutical Industries and Medical Supplies “Academa”, at the headquarters of the General Council of the Ministry of Health and Populations. In the presence of Dr. Alft Ghrab, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Academa, Dr. Ihab Abu Aish, Deputy Minister of Finance for Public Treasury Affairs, Sherin Jamal, Assistant Minister of International Cooperation for Economic Research, members of the Board of Academa and a representative of the Central Accountancy Bureau. The Minister began the meeting with assurance of the completion of the legal mandate and the attendance ratio of the regular general assembly, emphasizing the Association’s genuine role in supporting the business of the Arab company of the pharmaceutical industries that have enormous potential, ensuring the continuous development of the company to carry out its duties at the local and regional levels. The Ministry of Health and Population Spokesman Dr. Hossam Abdul Ghaffar, explained that the minister has directed to expand investments in the pharmaceutical industry to ensure the continuity of meeting the health sector needs of medicines and supplies and the provision of a secure strategic stockpile of medicines and raw materials, ensuring supporting the medical system and achieving self-sufficiency, leading to the national pharmaceutical security Depend heavily on local manufacturing for our medicinal needs. Abdul Ghaffar said that the minister stressed the importance of doubling the export ratio of pharmaceutical products to other countries, especially those in the region to ensure that their basic needs are met, by expanding the contract of pharmaceutical agreements and intensifying cooperation between all relevant state sectors in this regard. Abdul Ghaffar added that the minister listened to the company’s financial records reports for the year ended 31/12/2020 and activities accomplished during the year, as well as listening to accountants’ reports on the financial lists for the year itself. On her part, Dr. Alfat Grabe, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Arab Corporation for Pharmaceutical and Medical Supplies (Academa), thanked the Minister of Health and Population, for his continued support to the company and interest in developing the pharmaceutical industries to achieve local and export medicine sufficiency.Translated from Arabic
