More A statement issued by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research: Minister of Higher Education Receives Executive Director of Volbright Education Exchange Reception of the Dr. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Board of Educational and Cultural Exchange between the Arab Republic of Egypt and the United States of America “Folbright”, Dr. Magi Naseef CEO of the board, in the presence of Dr. Mustafa Rifaat General Secretary of the Supreme Council of Universities, at the Ministry Building in New Cairo. The Fulbright program in Egypt is one of the premier programs for educational and cultural exchange, the minister confirmed, noting that the program is aimed at fostering mutual understanding by providing opportunities to graduate students, professors and teachers in Egypt, conducting scientific research, teaching, exchanging ideas and contributing to finding solutions to common issues. Ayman Ashour said on the necessity of taking advantage of scholarships offered to Egyptian researchers, especially from international institutions headed by the Fulbright Authority, especially in the light of the fruitful cooperation, and constructive relations between Egypt and the United States of America in various fields of education, research and training; to advance the research, training and professional level of Egyptian researchers to contribute to the country’s sustainable development plan 2030. On her part, introduced the Dr. Magi Nassif reports on the proposals of the scholarships that the Authority will grant to Egyptian students during the next year, as well as presenting project plans in the areas of professional development, preparation of leaders, science, arts, Islamic studies and technical education. The meeting discussed the schedule of grants for American experts who will come to Egypt to participate in development projects in universities, ministries, public sector bodies, and museums, for a period of between two to six weeks. The meeting also discussed the events and conferences that the Commission will host in the coming months in the fields of entrepreneurship, arts and science, in addition to the training sessions held by the Commission in different provinces. It is noteworthy that the Fulbright Organization was established in Egypt in 1949; to promote educational and cultural exchange by providing opportunities to graduate students, and professors, in Egypt, to study and conduct scientific research, teach, exchange ideas and experiences.
