وخلال المحاضرة أكد السيد مؤمن عثمان على أن الهدف من فحص هذه المومياء هو التعرف على الأساليب غير المتلفة لدراسة التابوت والمومياء والحصول على أفضل تفسير لحالة المومياء، بالإضافة إلى محاولة تأريخ عمرها ومعرفة سبب الوفاة.
وأشار إلى أن عملية الفحص أوضحت أن عمر المومياء قبل الوفاة كان يتراوح ما بين ٢٢ و ٢٥ عاما وأنها توفيت أثناء الولادة حيث وجد مجسم لتابوت صغير بين الساقين يرجح انه لجنين او لطفل حديث الولادة.
كما عرض السيد مؤمن عثمان الفئات المختلفة للمومياوات الموجودة داخل المتحف المصري بالتحرير وأوضح أيضا استراتيجيات فحص المومياوات المصرية الملفوفة، وشرح كيفية التخطيط الاستراتيجي للصيانة المستمرة لها.
وفي نهاية المحاضرة، قام السيد الدكتور فرانك رولي الأستاذ بجامعة zurich بتقديم الشكر والتحية للسيد مؤمن عثمان للعرض الرائع والمعلومات والحقائق العلمية المفيدة للعمل الأثري.
“Advanced And Non-destructive Methods used in the study of mummies” symposium organized by the University of Zurich, Switzerland
Upon an invitation from the Institute of Evolutionary Medicine at the University of Zurich, Switzerland, Mr. Momen Osman, Head of the Museum Sector at the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, via zoom application, gave a lecture on the scientific examinations of the mummies of a woman called “Nespahtwi” from the 22 dynasty of the late age using X-rays, during the symposium organized by the university under the title “Advanced And Non-destructive Methods used in the study of mummies” attended by a number of university professors.
During the lecture, Mr. Momen Osman stressed that the purpose of examining this mummy is to identify the undying methods of studying the coffin and mummy and to obtain the best explanation for the mummy’s condition, in addition to trying to date her age and knowing the cause of death.
He noted that the examination showed that the mummy was between the ages of 22 and 25 and that she had died during childbirth, since a small coffin was found between the legs, likely to be a fetus or a newborn child.
Mr. Momen Osman also presented the different categories of mummies inside the Egyptian Museum in tahrir and also explained the strategies for examining wrapped Egyptian mummies, and explained how to strategically plan their ongoing maintenance.
At the end of the lecture, Dr. Frank Rowley, Professor at the University of Zurich, thanked Mr. Momen Osman for his wonderful presentation and useful scientific information and facts for archaeological work.
