استقبلت منطقة آثار سقارة السيدة نوريا سانز المدير الإقليمي لليونسكو، حيث اصطحبها الدكتور مصطفى وزيري الأمين العام للمجلس للأعلى للآثار، في جولة تعريفية بالمنطقة، كما أعربت عن إعجابها بما حققه المجلس من إنجازات بالمنطقة الأثرية.

وخلال الجولة استعرض الدكتور مصطفى وزيري أعمال الحفائر التي تقوم بها حاليًا البعثة الأثرية المصرية لكشف المزيد من أسرار المنطقة، وكذلك آخر الاكتشافات الأثرية، بالإضافة إلى أعمال الترميم والنشر العلمي لعدد من المقابر التي تضمها المنطقة الأثرية.

Dr. Nuria Sanz, the regional director of UNESCO, visited Saqqara’s archaeological area accompanied by Dr. Mostafa Waziry, Secretary-General of the Supreme Council of Antiquities.

Dr. Waziry gave Dr. Sanz an introductory tour of the region, and she expressed her admiration for the Council’s achievements in the archaeological region.

During the tour, Dr. Mostafa Waziry reviewed the excavation work and the latest archaeological discoveries carried out by the Egyptian archaeological mission, as well as the restoration work and scientific publication of a number of tombs in the archaeological area.
